Now that New York Fashion week has come and gone we would like to put a stop light on a show of which we once again had the pleasure of collaborating with for the sixth consecutive season. So many of you may know The Blonds as the over the top, one of a kind type and this season was no exception.
Using classic horror movies such as Psycho, The Birds, and The Shining as inspiration Philippe and David Blond created looks that are to die for! Every detail on the runway from the Jack Nicholson nails to the blood spatter corsets gave a new meaning to “Psycho Chic.” And did we mention the white fur straightjacket!?!?! If only straightjackets were this glamorous we would all declare ourselves insane.
Check out some of the photos from the show and tell us what you think!

One of my favorite things on earth is sharing my obsessions with my friends, my family, and fans of nOir. I love the ability to express my passions with you on this blog
If you know me, you know that my love for Diana Vreeland goes way back to her days as a consultant at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have admired her for years, and I’m positive that my obsession with red and leopard stem from her. She was so much the quintessential Editor, that she actually, in fact, coined the term Editor after working at both Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue.
Always the keen eye, Miss Vreeland discovered Twiggy, Cher, Lauren Bacall, and spent time styling Fashion Icon, Jackie O.

Here’s me in my custom Diana Vreeland T-shirt (P.S. I no longer smoke! A bad habit I gave up years ago
)
Vreeland has always fascinated and inspired me. I’ve followed and researching her for years, but after recently watching her Documentary, The Eye Has to Travel (a MUST see), I found out that she and I share the love of surfing and skateboard culture. What I adore, is that, although immersed in Fashion, Diana was all about style.

In 1936, Diana started her Column for Harper’s Bazaar called “Why don’t you” - some of my favorites include:
Why don’t you knit yourself a little skullcap?
Why don’t you rinse your blond child’s hair in dead champagne to keep its gold, as they do in France?
Why don’t you wear violet velvet mittens with everything?
Here are some interesting tears from Diana’s instructional list for lunch orders, etc.
Some of my favorite quotes from Diana:
On secrets: keep you r secrets…that’s you power over others
On Memory: I never remember anything unpleasant …remember that!
On Money: Money can do horrible things to ignorant people
On fashion: They call this a fashion magazine? This isn’t fashion …..Its available merchandise
On heaven: ….a place with no paper, no pencils, no pens
